[PL] Słyszymy, ale czy słuchamy? Współczesne miasto, niekoniecznie rozmiarów metropolii, zalewa nas stale amalgamatem dźwięków pochodzenia naturalnego i będących efektem działalności człowieka. Żyjąc w takim środowisku, automatycznie filtrujemy te dźwięki, broniąc się przed przebodźcowaniem i starając się zachować konieczne skupienie. Ponadto, naczelnym zmysłem na jakim opieramy nasze czynności poznawcze, jest wzrok. A gdyby na moment odwrócić tę tendencję – zamknąć oczy i skupić się na tym, co dociera do naszych uszu?

Mapa dźwiękowa ma wieloraką wartość: dokumentacyjną, historyczną, kulturową. Stanowi zapis tego, co się zmienia – dobrym przykładem może być obecna sytuacja epidemiczna, która w przypadku Płocka, ale nie tylko, wycięła z miejskiej tkanki przede wszystkim znaczną część charakterystycznego dla niej gwaru powodowanego życiem towarzyskim. Zamknięte restauracje, brak wydarzeń kulturalnych w przestrzeni miasta nie zaowocowały jednak ciszą. Przestrzeń zdominował szum. Ulice niezmiennie atakują nasze uszy dźwiękami ruchu samochodowego, który w zależności od miejsca odbywa się ciągle, bądź charakterystycznymi falami. Stal i prąd elektryczny niewiele robią sobie z epidemii, w krajobrazie dźwiękowym miasta coraz śmielej poczyna więc sobie maszyna. Równolegle, wciąż można znaleźć miejsca dążące do charakteru galenosfery, w których co najwyżej przyroda korzysta ze zredukowanej obecności ludzkiego intruza.

Na pierwszej mapie dźwiękowej Płocka znalazło się niespełna 160 minut nagrań sporządzonych w 40 lokalizacjach w mieście. Publikacja mapy ma formę dwupłytowego wydawnictwa CD w ekologicznej okładce, które ukazało się nakładem Fundacji Nobiscum dzięki dofinansowaniu ze środków Miasta Płock.

Autorem wszystkich nagrań jest Piotr Dąbrowski, płocki muzyk i artysta dźwiękowy, który od wielu już lat śledzi to, co wybrzmiewa w naszym otoczeniu.

Mapa posłuży Fundacji Nobiscum do realizacji dalszych zadań w obszarze badań pejzażu dźwiękowego i działalności edukacyjnej i warsztatowej w 2021 roku. Planujemy kontynuację projektu, który w kolejnych latach zostanie wzbogacony o jeszcze więcej nagrań – mapa dźwiękowa jest bowiem projektem żywym i zmiennym, tak jak żyje i zmienia się nagrywane miasto.

Nagrania mapy dźwiękowej Płocka zostały opublikowane na licencji Creative Commons – uznanie autorstwa (CC BY 3.0 PL). Zachęcamy do wykorzystania ich w działalności edukacyjnej i kulturalnej, a także do kontaktu z nami celem uzyskania dodatkowych informacji.

UWAGA! Niektóre z nagrań są bardzo dynamiczne, tzn. dźwiękom cichym towarzyszą bardzo głośne, pojawiające się nagle (np. wystrzały). Chroń swój słuch i kontroluj poziom głośności, szczególnie na słuchawkach. Nagrania, które mogą Was zaskoczyć najbardziej oznaczyliśmy symbolem [!]

[EN] We hear, but do we listen? A modern city, not necessarily the size of a metropolis, is constantly flooding us with the amalgam of sounds of natural origin and those being an effect of human activity. Living in such an environment, we automatically filter these sounds, defending ourselves against over-stimulation and trying to maintain the necessary focus. Moreover, the main sense on which we base our cognitive activities is sight. What if this tendency was reversed for a moment – what if we closed our eyes and focused on what is reaching our ears?

The sound map has multiple purposes: documentary, historical and cultural. It is a record of variables – a good example can be the current epidemic situation, which in the case of Płock, but not only, cut out a large part of the characteristic social life buzz from the city’s tissue. However, closed restaurants and the lack of cultural events in the city space did not result in silence. The space was dominated by noise. The streets invariably attack our ears with the sounds of car traffic, which, depending on the place, takes place either continuously or in characteristic waves. Steel and electricity disregard the epidemic, so the machine is becoming a bolder element in the soundscape of the city. Still, there are places close to the character of a galenosphere, where nature benefits from the reduced presence of the human intruder.

The first sound map of Płock includes slightly less than 160 minutes of recordings made in 40 locations in the city. The map is published by the Nobiscum Foundation in the form of a double CD with an eco-friendly cover, released thanks to funding received from the City of Płock.

The author of all recordings is Piotr Dąbrowski, a musician and sound artist from Płock who has been following the sounds in our city environment for many years.

The map will be used by the Nobiscum Foundation to carry out further tasks in the field of soundscape research as well as educational activities in 2021. We plan to continue the project, which in the coming years will be enriched with even more recordings – a sound map is a living and changing concept, just like the recorded city lives and changes on a constant basis.
